The Artistic and Production Associate, reporting to the Director of Theatre Operations at Emerson Stage, is a key member of the management and production team, working with faculty, staff, and students to produce the 2025–26 season. This 9-month position (up to 3 years) includes supporting productions, supervising and mentoring students, coordinating communication among departments, managing student office assistants, developing orientation guides, assisting in season show selection and casting, supporting design mentorship and budgets, producing the New Fest: Short Works production, helping develop the annual student showcase in Boston and NYC, and representing Emerson Stage with student-led productions. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in theater production or arts management, 3–5 years of theatre production or management experience, and proven ability to manage and instruct production teams. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, enthusiasm for working with college-aged individuals, problem-solving ability, and knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suites are also required. Work may involve lifting, confined spaces, or heights, and occurs in theatre and office settings with occasional on-call availability.
