Job Description:

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Strats in New York, New York.

Work as a desk strategist focusing on the Prime Brokerage business to understand both tactical and strategic business needs. Perform data analysis to drive economic and operational efficiencies. Deliver data analysis and tooling with technologies including KDB+/Q, DB2, Sybase, Python, and Excel. Work on the equity swap trading desk and collaborate with senior traders, marketers and strategists to develop the analytics used to drive the business. Build and enhance new and existing tools used for business analysis and the systems that drive business. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

  • Requires a Master’s in Quantitative Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Associate, Risk Analytics Specialist, Financial Engineer, or a related role in the financial industry.
  • Requires two (2) years of experience with: Data analysis with Excel; software development; iterative programming languages including C++ or Python; financial derivatives; working with Unix/Linux environment; shell scripting; and the Software Development Life Cycle.
