This position is typically held by an individual who has 3-5 years’ experience in the industry and has advanced knowledge of Schneider Electric products and outside vendor hardware knowledge, with an advanced understanding of HVAC or other building or electronic control systems and software applications. The role is responsible for providing independent, high quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets and schedules, and/or providing central software support for HVAC, as well as participating on a team to design, install, and service building automation control and facility management systems, working under direct supervision of a Project Manager or Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include influencing and persuading internal and external customers, listening effectively, and soliciting input from others; handling multiple demands and assignments, prioritizing tasks effectively and efficiently, and managing resource procurement and utilization; programming BAS sequences per plans and specifications; reviewing specifications, drawings, and control sequences; assisting in resolving design issues through RFIs and field surveys; participating in field startup using standard startup and checkout processes; contributing to developing software standards and streamlining processes; graphic front end and human machine interface page development; designing software code at an intermediate level with limited support from senior engineers; maintaining and adhering to standards for estimating and budgeting software designs; being highly organized and able to work in a high-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet schedules; and having working knowledge of MS Office, file structures, and Microsoft Visio. Qualifications include possessing a Mechanical Engineering degree with Computer Science experience (preferred), 3-5 years of experience in the Building Automation Controls industry, knowledge of BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols, the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with diverse team members to achieve project quality and customer satisfaction, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills.
